What are Bed Bugs?
Bed bugs are parasites that feed on humans
Where do they come from?
Bed bugs are bought into home on infested furniture or in luggage and personal belongings after staying in infested lodgings.
Bed Bug Basics
Bed bugs can survive over 6 months between blood meals
Adult bed bugs are reddish brown in color and about 1/4 inch long
Usually bed bugs eat at night when you are asleep. They eat when and where you sleep and will adjust their location and schedule according to you.
When they are not eating, bed bugs will hide in cracks and crevices close to the you (e.g., mattress seams, bed frame, headboard, box spring, behind wall hangings or baseboards, torn wall paper, bedroom furniture, etc.).
How do I know if I have them?
Waking up with red, itchy bug bites
Dark spotting of walls, mattress, and other places where they hide

How can I get rid of them?
Non-Chemical
Minimize floor clutter
Vacuum them up
Wash linens in hot water and place in a dryer on high heat for 30-40 minutes
Chemical Control
Apply Insecticide to all cracks and crevices in an infested room (make sure to read safety warnings)
-It is highly recommended that a professional, commercial pesticide applicator be hired to apply the pesticide
How can I make sure they are gone?
Check sheets and mattresses for dark spots
Use adhesive traps that collect insects as they crawl over the sticky surface.
