Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate 20 years of Hospice on June 10th at Catamount Ranch and Club golf course and The Larson Barn. Over 350 supporters of Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s Hospice and Palliative Care program joined us to golf and celebrate. It was a picture perfect day, and a bit of a wild and windy evening, filled with celebration, remembrance and support of the much needed service Hospice provides to patients with a life expectancy of 6 months or less.
Our volunteers proved to be the highlight of the event this year! 35 volunteers worked a total of 108 hours to help make our event happen. They worked tirelessly alongside our staff to plan, set up and tear down into the night.
Last year, our staff provided care to 80 terminally ill patients and bereavement counseling and support to more than 250 grieving family members (including children). We were able to provide compassion, comfort, dignity and hope to our patients and their loved ones during these difficult times due to the generosity and support shown at our annual fundraising event. The use of Jim and Susan Larson’s Barn, entertainment by The Loose Change Band, Catering by Rex’s, and equipment by Colorado Event Rentals, among the support of various other generous community vendors made this a very special evening enjoyed by all.
I would like to extend a very big thank you to our incredible staff, dedicated volunteers, committed board of directors, generous event and in-kind sponsors, all of the family members of those that we serve, and to all who came out to celebrate and with us. The support of this community continues to inspire and to remind us all why this is such a wonderful place to call home.
