Many seniors are at a stage in life where they do not require skilled nursing care, but they no longer can, or want, to live alone. The Haven is a 20 bed non-profit assisted living facility for those age 55 and older with state of the art amenities including a beautiful homelike setting, highly qualified staff, three meals a day, housekeeping, assistance with daily living tasks as needed, companionship, social activities, exercise classes, private or semi-private rooms, freedom to come and go with no worry, individual pampering. Medication administration assistance and medical appointment transportation are also available.
What is Assisted Living?
Assisted living is often viewed as the best of both worlds. Residents have as much independence as they want with the knowledge that personal care and support services are available if they need them. Assisted living is designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and more. Assisted living communities differ from nursing homes in that they don’t offer complex medical services.
Who needs Assisted Living?
Assisted living residents are usually seniors who have had a slight decline in health in some way and need assistance performing one or more activities of daily living (ADLs). Seniors who would like to live in a social environment with little responsibilities and a place where care is easily accessible whenever the senior may need it are the type of seniors you will find in an assisted living community.
Respite Care
Respite Care gives assistance while the caregiver/families are away on vacation or business, or while families enjoy the Yampa Valley worry-free while on vacation. The Vivien Card Memorial Respite Room is a fully furnished room with linens. All the regular benefits of The Haven are included: three meals a day, housekeeping, assistance with bathing if needed, activities and companionship. Medication administration assistance and medical appointment transportation are available for a fee. All prerequisites apply just as they do for full -time Haven residents, however, the 55 -or-older age restriction does not apply to the respite room.
