Let’s all resolve to say no to tobacco!

One of the most common New Year’s resolutions is tobacco cessation.  For 2012, Northwest Colorado VNA and the Steamboat Springs N-CTRL coalition are encouraging everyone to make a resolution about tobacco.  Let’s all resolve to say no to tobacco.

If you use tobacco, make 2012 your year to quit and if you have never used tobacco, never start.

Other ways to say no to tobacco include: keeping your home and automobile tobacco free and offering support and encouragement to others to stay tobacco free too.  You can also become a tobacco prevention advocate by showing your support for tobacco initiatives like N-CTRL (non-cigarette tobacco retailer licensing).    The Steamboat Springs N-CTRL ordinance passed on July 19, 2011 and will limit youth access to tobacco. For more information on the ordinance or to get involved in tobacco education efforts contact Vicki Barron, Community Health Educator at Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association at 970-875-1883 or vbarron@blog.northwestcoloradohealth.org
